Breaking all Australian records, Astronaut In The Ocean became the breakout hit of 2021 earning over 400+ million views on YouTube, 4 billion streams worldwide, and 5 ARIA Award nominations, including Best Music Video.

Directed by Daniele Cernera and shot at Cerne Studios in Sydney, the video was created in less than half a day with a minimal crew. Using real-time retro projection on the cyclorama, the team simulated planetary space backdrops and stylised environments, with clever lighting to shape mood and contrast.

Additional CGI elements were handled by 180 Creative (Melbourne) to bring the interstellar vibe to life.

This project established Cerne Studios as a go-to destination for high-concept visuals with lean execution — where big ideas don’t need big crews.
